Simple Mulled Wine Recipe

Nothing says Christmas in July here in Australia more than mulled wine. This simple recipe is inspired by European winters spent in front of a fire with snow outside and is just the right size to make into a single sachet to give as gifts, party favours or to pop straight into a saucepan and enjoy!

Ingredients:

1 cinnamon stick

2 cloves

1 bay leaf

1 star anise

1dehydrated orange

1 teaspoon raw sugar

1 bottle of dry red wine

Method:

Pour all ingredients into a saucepan and simmer over low heat for 5-10 minutes or until sugar is dissolved & the mixture is heated through. Strain and pour into a heatproof glass or mug. Enjoy the beautiful aroma and drink warm.

Optional extra: add a splash of brandy.
