Advent Calendar Activities

When my kids were younger we started some Christmas traditions that we did every year to help build the excitement that this time of year can bring, especially when you’re a child!

One of those traditions was an advent calendar we’d hang up every year. It was just a set of numbered envelopes for each day of December and inside we’d put a small gift - sometimes lollies, or a candy cane, or tattoos & stickers and we’d also put in an activity to do for the day. Something simple, nothing too hard, that we did each day as we got closer to Christmas. Of course, I matched the activity to our calendar, making sure we did the quicker ones on busy days and saved the longer activities for days we had more time.

I’ve put together a similar list for you just in case you’d like to do the same thing? You don’t even need the envelopes or gifts. The activities are fun to do all on their own.

These 24 mindful activity ideas mean you don’t have to think about how to bring the joy this Christmas!
